KAN Research Institute, Inc. was founded as a subsidiary company through the capital investment of Eisai Co., Ltd. in April 1997 and moved to an intellectual cluster of Biomedical Research and Innovation at Kobe in 2006. KAN Research Institute is continuously creating novel therapeutic concepts based on original scientific and medical knowledge to fulfill unmet medical needs.
In the research for the development of new drugs, it is extremely important to reveal and clarify the function of specific cell types and subcellular organelles that are involved in fundamental root cause of diseases. KAN Research Institute is actively pursuing state-of-the-art science and technology in cell biology to discover new drug targets. The creation of original and robust therapeutic concepts is accomplished by understanding the principle of disease and physiology of human being as a multicellular organism.
As a member of the Eisai Network Companies, it is KAN Research Institute's mission to become a human-health-care (hhc) company, to contribute to patients and their families through "Integrative Cell Biology for Medicine" research leading to the product creation in neurodegenerative diseases, the relapse and metastasis of cancers, and refractory immune diseases.
KAN Research Institute will continue to implement wisdom of science, technology, and medicine to our research activities through interactive collaboration with academia.
It is our goal to nurture the individuality and diversity in our employees, encourage the spirit of challenge, understanding the patient's reality or perspective, and foster unique culture that contribute to the society by fulfilling unmet medical needs.
